A Message from Our Rector
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is hard to believe that two years have passed since I was installed as Rector of the Co-Cathedral. When I first assumed my role, I distributed a Pastoral Vision to the parish which outlined some of my priorities for the parish. They were based on three foundations: Building Community, to Teach and Sanctify, and Evangelization/Outreach. It has been very rewarding to see the tremendous growth in our parish both in membership and activities/opportunities for people to connect to each other and grow in their Catholic faith. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and prayers over these past two years.
As we continue on this journey it is my hope that you see the Co-Cathedral as your spiritual home, and that you feel that you belong to this family. This is your home and your family!
Over the coming months we will begin organizing and inviting people to be connected to one of many small parish communities. This is entirely optional and the level of involvement will be totally up to you, but I hope that it will provide a connection to other parishioners and help develop a sense of Catholic community.
I have been working with a team for the past year to develop a plan that will address our parking shortage, potentially construct bathrooms in or near the church, and build a dedicated Student Center for our growing college campus ministry. We also have plans to begin a dedicated Men’s ministry to complement the very successful Women’s Walking with Purpose.
This past weekend, we were invited to renew our commitment to further the mission of our parish and the Church as part of our Our Home, Our Family Commitment Sunday. Every act of love has an eternal impact. Please prayerfully consider taking an active and prayerful part in our Our Home, Our Family stewardship program. Enclosed is a commitment card, with which I invite you to renew your commitment to financially support the mission and good works of our parish out of love for Christ, His Church, and our parish community.
It is thanks to the generosity of parishioners like you that we can continue to worship, provide the sacraments, educate, evangelize, and serve our community. Can you imagine what we can accomplish together as a parish family through our acts of love and deepening our relationship with Christ in the Eucharist?
Completing and submitting your commitment card is easy! Simply:
Mail your card to the church using the pre-addressed envelope included with this letter.
Bring your card to Mass next Sunday.
Visit our parish website at cocathedral.com and complete an electronic commitment card.
Please know that you & your families remain in my daily prayers, and I humbly ask that I remain in yours.
Gratefully yours in Christ,
This week you will receive a brochure introducing our “Our Home, Our Family” Program. I’m proud to be part of the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More community. On Commitment Weekend, September 21 & 22, I invite each of you to participate in this important program and help us respond to God’s great gift of love. I ask that you please review this brochure and prayerfully consider how you and your family can help Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More by financially supporting our ministries, furthering our mission, and reinforcing our future.
We ask that all faithful parishioners complete a Commitment Card. A card will be included in the brochure mailing for you to:
mail to the church using the pre-addressed envelope included in this mailing.
or bring your card to Mass next Sunday.
or you may visit our parish website at www.cocathedral.com and complete an electronic Commitment Card.
The back of the Commitment Card has a place for you to include any prayer intentions you wish to share. We welcome all intentions and they will be prayed for collectively over the next few weeks. If you would like to speak to a priest, please indicate so on your card and we will be in contact with you.
Our goal is 100% participation! Thank you for your generosity and support of Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More!
