Rite of Christian Initiation At St. Thomas More, an adult can begin the RCIA process on September 8th at 10:00 am. ( RCIA Classroom 1 & 2, Adult Confirmation Msgr. Kerr Room, inquire at the front desk for directions.) Typically, the newcomer spends three months in an inquiry group, which is designed for any non-Catholic who wants to learn more about the Church in a low-key, pressure-free setting. The inquirer then moves on to the Catechumenate. The RCIA classes are held on Sundays from 10:00-11:30 AM. The length of time spent in Inquiry and Catechumenate may vary depending on the individual. Individuals seeking baptism are baptized, confirmed, and receive Holy Eucharist during the Easter Vigil Mass. Baptized Christians from other denomination seeking to join the Catholic Church by making a Profession of Faith will have an opportunity to do so during Mass before the Easter Vigil. For further information about RCIA, please contact Deacon Andy Grosmaire at (850) 222-9630 ext. 20 or deaconandy@cocathedral. Confirmation The Rite of Confirmation is a sacrament that continues the welcome and belonging that began with baptism and has continued with Eucharist. Confirmation deepens our relationship with God and strengthens us to live lives of faith and mission. Confirmation classes are Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM in the Msgr. Kerr Room. Baptized Catholics seeking confirmation in the faith should contact Deacon Andy at deaconandy@cocathedral.com |
