Enkindling the Flame of Faith is a virtual, one day gathering of parents from across the diocese to reflect more deeply on their calling to raise their children as disciples of Jesus.
This evangelization retreat provides sacramentally married couples with an opportunity to begin their spiritual journey together (or deepen it if it already exists). The retreat serves as the introduction to Domestic Church for those interested in beginning formation in a Domestic Church circle. The retreat includes daily Mass, talks and time for couples to encounter the Lord together.

We would like to welcome Mrs. Paula Wright to our parish team! Paula is the new Faith Formation Director for St. Thomas More. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Winter Park, FL, where she served for 17 years and coordinated much of their Faith Formation. We look forward to introducing her to our parish in the weekends ahead as registration begins for children in our Religious Education and Sacramental Preparation programs.

Greetings in the Risen Lord. In celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we rejoice in the gift of new life that God bestows on us every day. As well, with the good news that more of us are being vaccinated – and the numbers of those infected with Covid-19 remain relatively low in our diocese at this point – we thank God that we are in a position to celebrate Mass with fewer restrictions.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops recently released a statement on the new COVID-19 vaccines, which provides insight into the moral considerations of inoculation for believers. Were the vaccines developed using aborted fetal cells? Is it morally acceptable for God’s people to receive them if so? The issue is complex, but this statement provides ample faith-based counsel.
The death of George Floyd at the hands – or the knee – of a police officer in Minnesota last week is horrifying. Understandably, it has touched off a storm of protests, violent outbursts, and a new wave of anger, sadness and fear. What are we to do in the face of this? How does the Church respond? What is the Lord telling us at this moment in history?
